Quality Section Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Quality Section Manager to join our team and oversee the quality management processes for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or management, extensive experience in quality management, and a deep understanding of project management practices within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This role requires a strategic leader with the ability to ensure that all project activities meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Management Leadership:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the quality management team, providing direction, mentorship, and on-the-job training to assigned personnel.
  • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Oversee all quality assurance and control activities for engineering, procurement, construction, testing, operations, and decommissioning phases.
    • Ensure the application of quality principles and tools across all project activities.
  • Corrective Actions and Nonconformance:
    • Identify nonconforming conditions and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and make necessary adjustments to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay current with regulatory requirements and ensure that the quality program/plan adheres to these standards.
    • Communicate with regulatory bodies as needed to ensure compliance and address any concerns.
  • Financial Performance:
    • Manage the financial performance of the quality section, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure that quality management activities are conducted within budget and contribute to overall project profitability.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
    • Prepare and present detailed quality reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality management system and processes.
    • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the project team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or management from an accredited university.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including significant experience as a quality manager for large-scale projects.
    • Experience and cultural understanding of project management within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Broad knowledge of quality principles, tools, and their application to engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or decommissioning.
    • Knowledge of the application of corrective actions to reconcile nonconforming conditions.
    • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer programs for quality management.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and functions that impact the quality program/plan.
  • Management and Communication Skills:
    • Proficiency in verbal and written communications.
    • Proven ability to provide direction and on-the-job training to assigned personnel.
    • Strong proficiency in managing financial performance.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience working in the GCC region and Europe.
