Chief of Staff – New York Metropolitan Area

Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional and discreet Chief of Staff to support a highly accomplished and growing attorney practice. As the Chief of Staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the leadership team and ensuring efficient execution of the law firm’s initiatives. This role demands a dynamic, capable individual who can manage multiple projects, drive cross-functional collaboration, as well as manage all administrative functions.

Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a keen interest in the intersections of law, business, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support

  • Manage and coordinate high-level confidential meetings, ensuring seamless scheduling and preparation.
  • Draft, edit, and review correspondence, presentations, and legal documents.
  • Handle confidential and time-sensitive information with discretion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Arrange travel, accommodations, and itineraries for domestic and international engagements.

Administrative & Office Management

  • Maintain an efficient filing and document management system.
  • Monitor and respond to emails, calls, and inquiries on behalf of the lawyer.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes, and track action items.
  • Manage office supplies, technology, and vendor relationships.

Project & Business Support

  • Assist in research and project coordination for art, culture, politics, and business initiatives.
  • Liaise with key figures in the legal, corporate, and cultural sectors.
  • Coordinate special events, exhibitions, or networking functions as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as an Executive or Administrative Assistant, preferably in a legal, corporate, or governmental setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Discretion and confidentiality are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and document management software.
  • Experience in handling VIP clients and high-profile engagements is a plus.
  • Interest in art, culture, politics, and business is highly desirable.
