Our client, a rapidly growing law firm based in NYC, is seeking an HR & Office Manager to join their team. We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented professional to help run the operational side of the firm.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a multifaceted role for someone who thrives on variety — one day you may be managing payroll and benefits administration, the next coordinating the managing partner’s calendar, and the next ordering office supplies or greeting a client. You’ll work closely with our business manager and founding partner to keep the firm running smoothly, all while working out of one of Manhattan’s most prestigious and iconic addresses, location downtown.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding for firm staff
- Administer payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and PTO tracking
- Maintain compliance with NYC/NY employment laws (Wage Theft Prevention Act, Earned Safe and Sick Time Act, PFL/DBL, etc.)
- Maintain personnel files and HR policies/handbook
- Handle employee relations matters and serve as a point of contact for staff questions
Executive Assistant
- Manage the managing partner’s calendar, scheduling, and travel arrangements
- Prepare correspondence, expense reports, and internal documents
- Coordinate meetings, calls, and deadlines
- Handle confidential matters with discretion
Office Management
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, supplies, and vendor relationships
- Serve as primary point of contact for building management and facilities
- Coordinate firm events, client meetings, and office logistics
- Support general administrative needs across the firm
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HR, office management, or executive support (law firm experience a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency with HR/payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, or similar) and standard office software
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience
- Additional benefits, health insurance, PTO.
