We are seeking Board Members for a Sustainable Non-Profit Entity & Endowment
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Board Member to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable non-profit entity and endowment aimed at perpetually preserving the flora and fauna of SAN Parks, supporting its operations, and enhancing adjacent communities. This role requires strategic vision, leadership, and a passion for environmental conservation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Action Items: Collaborate in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve long-term preservation goals for SAN Parks and its surrounding communities.
- Non-Profit Structure & Governance:
- Advise on the optimal structure of the non-profit organization, leveraging IRS 501(c)(3) status and Delaware jurisdiction for operational efficiency and legal protection.
- Participate in governance discussions regarding the establishment and oversight of subsidiary entities like the Kruger Wildlife Foundation USA (Delaware) and associated entities.
- International Expansion:
- Contribute to plans for international branches in G7 countries and potential BRICS nations, fostering partnerships, fundraising efforts, and localized conservation programs.
- Intellectual Property Management:
- Support strategies to trademark and copyright assets, ensuring protection and licensing agreements for global merchandise and content distribution.
- Environmental Commodities Development:
- Advocate for initiatives like the BIODIVERSITY + CONSERVATION X PRIZE to incentivize innovation in conservation, fostering positive environmental outcomes through prizes and partnerships.
- Use of Funds Oversight:
- Provide oversight on the allocation and utilization of funds, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities such as operations, park maintenance, education, research, infrastructure investment, and community outreach.
- Board Leadership:
- Actively participate in board meetings, committees, and strategic planning sessions.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts by leveraging personal networks and influencing potential donors, leveraging the USA’s largest potential global donor base.
Qualifications:
- Professional Experience: Senior-level experience in corporate governance, environmental conservation, fundraising, or non-profit management.
- Expertise: Understanding of intellectual property management, financial stewardship, and international nonprofit operations.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including Fortune 500 executives, influencers, and environmental advocates.
- Passion: Demonstrated commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability, with a track record of supporting initiatives that positively impact communities and biodiversity.
