BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

OVERVIEW / ROLE
Our client is a leading Consumer Market Research firm that is seeking a Business Development Manager in New York. This role will be responsible for subscription sales of Consumer insights, syndicated reports, and market analytics within the CPG vertical, and will assume responsibility for hunting, account development, and generating new clients within a defined territory.

MUST HAVE:

Consumer / CPG Market Research, Market Intelligence, Market Data,
Consumer Insights sales experience; consistent quota attainment (3+
consecutive years) from closing subscription Market Research services
with “new logo” Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) accounts. There is not an
existing account base, however you are able to keep and grow your
accounts / book of business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve and/or exceed sales revenue targets based on new business
  • Identify new business and revenue growth opportunities within CPG accounts
  • Prepare territory / account plans with short and longer term revenue goals
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to management as required
  • Set meetings and deliver presentations to sell the full range of Consumer market research / insights to clients
  • Prepare proposals and successfully negotiate to win new business and grow renewals
  • Contribute to the business by providing relevant client feedback
  • Manage sales pipeline from opportunity initiation through delivery

EXPERIENCE

  • Consumer / CPG market research and business intelligence sales
  • A proven track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Strong new business focus with the experience of building and managing a territory using a solution sales approach
  • Proven ability to engage with decision makers and coordinate activity within major accounts
  • Excellent communicator combining interpersonal relationship building, presentation, and closing skills
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable with market data and statistics, and other aspects of company & market analysis
  • Ability to work independently based on strong organizational, planning and time management skills
