Family Law Litigator NYC

EBC Associates is seeking a Family Law Litigation Associate to join a leading NYC law firm. This is an onsite position located in NYC.

Salary: Up to $150K base salary (negotiable based on experience). Our client is a leading family law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services.

Job Description:

We have an immediate need for a Family Law Litigation Associate with a minimum of 3 years of family law litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and prenuptial agreements. This role requires excellent legal writing skills and the ability to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of family law litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and orders.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and trials.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including Verified Complaints, Orders to Show Cause, Family Court Petitions, and Settlement Agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top 50 law school as ranked by U.S. News Report.
  • Admission to the NY state bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of family law litigation experience.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Required Legal Writing Samples:

Candidates must provide the following legal writing samples, with personally identifying information redacted:

  • Verified Complaint/Verified Answer
  • Order to Show Cause, Affidavit, and Affirmation
  • Family Court Petition of any sort
  • Divorce Settlement Agreement Stipulation/Consent Agreement
  • Prenuptial Agreement
