INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER
Summary
The Internal Audit Manager oversees the operation of the Bank’s co-sourced Internal Audit Function, and is a key driver and contributor to the successful completion of the Annual Audit Plan. This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to accurately complete tasks in a timely manner. Candidates for this role should possess a deep knowledge of the community banking industry. Auditable entities include Lending (Residential and Commercial Loan Originations, Allowance, Loan Review, Servicing, Compliance), Retail Banking (Branches, Deposit Operations, Compliance), Accounting/Finance/Investments, Regulatory Compliance (BSA/AML/OFAC, Privacy, ID Theft, Compliance Management System, TARP), Human Resources and Payroll, and Information Technology (General Controls, Internal and External Network Security).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Leading the planning, staffing, and execution of co-sourced audit function.
Responsible for overall department operations: budget development, resource management, etc.
Utilize a risk-based approach to plan and prioritize audit work; review deliverables such as: audit plans, programs, reports, work papers, and validation test work.
Monitor and manage all aspects of the audit team to ensure alignment with objectives.
Perform financial, operational and compliance audits.
Refine, implement and maintain the Bank’s audit process, including Audit Department standards and procedures.
Identify materiality and risk of audit exceptions; Analyzing, summarizing and presenting the audit results and issue validations to management, the Audit Committee, and the Compliance
Committee. Provide advice and guidance to business areas in the development of appropriate and relevant corrective actions.
Acts as the primary liaison between Internal Audit, the Audit Committee, and management, assuring that the Audit Committee is aware of any significant issues encountered.
Acts as liaison between the Bank and regulators; overseeing regulatory examination preparation and logistics.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
Seven to ten years of experience within banking or financial services.
Minimum of three years of internal/external audit, accounting, or compliance/regulatory experience required.
Experience and understanding of the Institute of Internal Audit Standards for the Professional Practice of Auditing and control frameworks such as COSO and FDICIA.
Strong organizational, time management, people management and leadership skills.
Proficient writing, speaking, and communication skills, planning abilities, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and build trust across the organization.
Ability to work independently or with a team.
Certification as a CIA and/or CPA preferred
