Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Operations Director with experience in the
printing/promotions and manufacturing industries to lead and oversee global
operational functions. The Operations Director will be responsible for managing the end
to-end production and supply chain processes, ensuring operational excellence, and
driving efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track
record in print production, logistics, import/export, with strong leadership skills, and the
ability to optimize business processes for maximum profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee all operations, including production,
supply chain, logistics, and warehousing, to ensure seamless execution of company
objectives. Logistics knowledge shipping to all EU countries from the UK, China to
US, and US to China.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational
performance, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive growth. Align operations
with the company’s long-term goals and market expansion plans.
• Production Management: Oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring
the highest standards in quality, efficiency, and output. Utilize printing industry
knowledge to ensure that production lines operate at peak efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team,
ensuring strong collaboration across departments. Foster a culture of continuous
improvement and accountability.
• Supply Chain & Vendor Management: Manage supplier relationships, negotiate
contracts, and oversee procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and
goods. Optimize the supply chain to meet demand while minimizing costs.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational improvements,
leveraging lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to
streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Financial Oversight: Work closely with the finance team to manage operational
budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure cost control measures
are in place. Monitor P&L to ensure operational efficiency aligns with business
goals.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards.
Establish and maintain quality control systems and protocols, especially within
print production.
• Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems
to enhance production capabilities and operational efficiencies. Stay abreast of
industry trends and innovations in the printing and products sectors.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with relevant industry
standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies. Maintain a strong focus
on health and safety to ensure a safe working environment.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and
customer service teams to align production schedules with customer demands and
market trends, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Lead efforts to implement sustainable practices across
production and supply chain functions, ensuring the company meets its
environmental goals.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in operations management, with
at least 5 years in a leadership role within the printing or manufacturing industries.
• Print Production Expertise: Strong knowledge of printing technologies (e.g., digital,
offset, large format) and production workflows. Promotional industries products
and vendor knowledge.
• Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing and developing teams across
multiple operational functions.
• Strategic Mindset: Strong ability to think strategically and implement long-term
operational plans that align with company objectives. Domestic and International
and cross-country Europe experience with print + promo.
• Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, P&L, and cost control initiatives,
with a focus on improving operational efficiency and profitability.
• Process Improvement: Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous
improvement methodologies to streamline processes and reduce waste. Logistics
and warehouse experience, import and export.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
make data-driven decisions.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using ERP systems, printing software, and other
operational tools to track and improve performance. Expertise with the Microsoft
suite of products.
• Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with
the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the
organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business, or a related field. MBA or
other advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in a product-based company or fast-growing manufacturing
environment.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and green manufacturing practices.
