Operations Director – Midtown NYC
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Operations Director will manage all day-to-day financial, administrative, budgeting and employee related services. Our ideal candidate is the ‘backbone’ to running a thriving upscale NYC restaurant, a multitasker, and the glue to making sure everything functions smoothly.
This position requires working on-site Tuesday – Saturday.
Position Objective
The Operations Director is a highly visible position working with the leadership team. The role will oversee all restaurant operational systems and employee performance management, and is tasked with providing white glove service, delivering strong revenue numbers. Our ideal candidate will take charge of and provide strategic direction for all day-to-day operations and HR procedures.
Operations and Financial Functions
Provide leadership to management and employees, ensuring staff is exceeding guidelines related to food quality and excellence, facility cleanliness, maintenance practices and service procedures.
Manage budget and operations, and all required compliance, inspections, and audits.
Develop policies and procedures to achieve goals related to cash flow, revenue growth, cost of goods sold, labor costs and all daily operating expenses.
Ensure operational and training standards are consistently executed.
Expert in TOAST, QuickBooks, Excel, Microsoft WORD, and all suite of products.
Analyze monthly financial reports; monitor transactions and accounts to keep within the approved budgeted percentages.
Execute strategies to ensure systems and processes are established, monitored, and followed, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Human Resources Functions
Manage onboarding for new hires and develop creative ways to inspire and motivate team members.
Work with managers to exceed service standards and drive continuous improvement in customer service.
Employment benefits and policies including HR Handbook, COVID policies, Discrimination, Harassment, and Reasonable Accommodations in the Workplace.
Monitor staffing and labor standards to manage costs.
Mitigate financial risks associated with employee relations issues.
Keep current with all HR, Federal, State, and National Labor Laws.
Workers’ compensation, Long Term Disability, NY State Paid Family Leave, claims and audit scheduling.
Key Qualifications
- Expertise in TOAST.
- BS/BA degree in business/hospitality/culinary.
- Ability to analyze and prepare financial forecasting and reporting.
