Our client, a global full-service process and mechanical
contractor, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in
Frederick, MD. They specialize in the design and installation of process,
mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate must have a
demonstrated track record of strong leadership, and organizational and
communication skills. Candidates should be detail oriented, and have the
ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range
of intellectual and practical problems. Knowledge of quality principles and TQM
applications is desired, as well as the ability to analyze data with problem-solving
skills to achieve win-win solutions. Solid understanding of financial reporting
and information is required.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP of Operations for the US, the Operations
Manager is responsible for providing overall management and direction for
multiple sites/projects/areas and Project Managers to see that the projects
meet and exceed customer and corporate goals, performs to profit/expense
objectives, and performs any other related duties deemed necessary and/or assigned
by the supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the segment / customer base to attain or
exceed the planned ROI targets.

Provides optimal customer service and satisfaction.
·
Performs construction work that meets the
quality requirements of the customer.
·
Provides the construction team with the
resources and information necessary for optimal performance.
·
Develops and ensures adherence to SOP and work
instructions.
·
Meets project schedules and deadlines.
·
Identifies requirements prior to the project and
meets specifications, plans and codes, etc.
·
Manages the company assets so they are: paid for
through billings when appropriate, secure from damage and theft, maintained in
a workable manner, and replaced when appropriate.

Develops the site quality and safety teams and ensures
that the personnel assigned are actively participating.
·
Manages all WIPs and communicates with all
levels within the organization.
·
Mentors Project Managers, Project Engineers, and
other staff.
·
Builds and achieves the segment operations plans
and budget.
·
Approves individual bids up to designated
signature limits.
·
Participates in the selection of personnel,
conducts performance appraisals, coaches in the development of careers and
recognizes accomplishments.

Supports the corporate quality improvement by
efforts by-

EDUCATION /
EXPERIENCE
BS degree Construction Management, Engineering or related
Mechanical is preferred. However, ten plus years of experience/knowledge of
construction (Mechanical Contracting), design, finance and/or management may
substitute for the degree requirement.
