Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and driven, bilingual Mandarin & English Production Director to join a rapidly growing leading manufacturer in the hospitality industry based in midtown. The Production Director will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, from procurement to production, ensuring that our products are manufactured efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the production process while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Lead and manage the entire production process from start to finish, ensuring that products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and mentor a team of production managers, supervisors, and factory staff. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Capacity Planning & Resource Allocation: Plan and allocate resources (labor, machinery, materials) to meet production goals efficiently while minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures throughout the production process to ensure all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to source raw materials and components. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement strategies for improving production efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing productivity. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to adjust schedules based on customer demands.
  • Cost Management: Manage production budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
  • Technology & Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest manufacturing technologies and trends. Evaluate and implement new tools and equipment to drive innovation and improve production capabilities.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Use data to monitor production performance, identify trends, and generate reports for senior leadership on productivity, efficiency, and output.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations management, or a related field. Bilingual in Mandarin and English.
  • 7+ years of experience in production management or manufacturing leadership, preferably within the hospitality or consumer products industry.
  • Proven track record of managing high-volume production operations, including overseeing multiple global production lines or facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control systems.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
