Project Control Department Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Control Department Manager to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in managing project controls on large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and experience in cost engineering, cost estimating, planning, scheduling, and overall project control activities. This position offers a competitive salary package and the opportunity to work on international projects, with a preference for candidates with experience in Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Controls Leadership:
    • Oversee and direct all project control activities, including cost engineering, cost estimating, control, and analysis, planning and scheduling, and schedule development.
    • Establish criteria and systems for all project controls activities, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Cost and Schedule Management:
    • Manage the development and implementation of cost control systems and procedures.
    • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
    • Analyze project performance data and provide accurate and timely reporting to senior management.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project control processes and tools.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the project controls team.
  • Team Development:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project control professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
    • Identify training and development needs and implement capacity-building programs.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project teams.
    • Prepare and present detailed project control reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess project risks related to cost and schedule and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure that project control practices adhere to regulatory and contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Minimum of 17 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on cost and schedule management on large projects.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in directing cost engineering, cost estimating, control and analysis, planning and scheduling.
    • Proven ability to establish criteria and system set-up for project controls activities.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
    • Proficiency in project control software and tools.
  • Management and Communication Skills:
    • Demonstrated skill in management, supervisory, and personnel administrative functions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • International Experience:
    • Experience working on international projects, with a preference for candidates with experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
    • Western Nationals only.

Compensation

  • SAR 50,000 to SAR 55,000 per month, negotiable for strong candidates.
